This site has NOT moved.

Confession: I miss blogging. I miss documenting my thoughts. I miss writing pretentious words to an audience of absolutely no one.

Every few months, I've been oscillating between starting up this blog and starting a new one completely (because, you know, my life does not offer more pressing matters to muse about). And, truth be told, I've started quite a few. Most on Wordpress, some on Blogger, none of them kept more than a couple of days.

I think my hesitation to return to blogging, and this blog in particular, does not have anything to do with my commitment issues but, instead, the humiliating link to my old fanfiction account. Acciopencil.

...That sounded even more pathetic than it did in my head. Yes, my dear reader (and I'm not that optimistic to think there are more than one of you), I have stopped blogging. Because of a username. I am serious. Oh, the woes of 21st century adolescents!

I created that username over two years ago because it reflected my passion to write and my obsession with Harry Potter, all in one neat pseudonym. And while my adour for Harry Potter is as bright as ever, the flames I once felt while writing have died down. In other words, I'm struggling both with my real life identity and the persona I display online.

I have no idea what galvanized this change in how I feel about myself,  but I can tentatively trace some sources.

- The health kick I experienced several months ago, which gradually morphed into less of a health kick and more of a growing obsession with calories burned and calories consumed. Writing became a feat so great I wasn't willing to attempt it. How could I write when food became the entirety of my thoughts?

- Lack of self-esteem as a writer. I did the worst thing I writer could do, and compared myself. I took criticism to heart. Became moderately depressed.

 Well, obviously.

- My friend's blatant ostracism.

- School. No explanation required.

However, I have RETURNED, and with me, acceptance. Of myself, of my writing, of my appearance. Whether this me is "Acciopencil" or another half-baked attempt at pseudonymity, the writing has been rekindled.

So, here I am! Enough preaching.

In my blogging interim, you have missed -

My end of the year finals, where I kicked some biology and Intregrated 3 butt; passed all finals with perfect or near perfect scores. Received the highest grade in Ms. L's Bio. Was overly nerdy/enthusiastic over that fact.

Got my learner's permit, despite the fact that, yes, I'm sixteen, and, no, I did not receive a car for my sixteenth birthday because I lacked the qualifications to drive aforementioned non-existent car. /islame

Wait! You read that right! I turned to sixteen! Whoo.

I've taken up running for fun. I didn't even know those two things could correlate in the same sentence. I run three miles every other day. I believe this qualifies me as a marathon runner.

Until next time,

best wishes!

THIS SITE HAS MOVED.

To http://insufferablebookworm.blogspot.com.

*shrugs* I think I have an addiction to creating blogs. I never even use half of the ones I make.

This blog has MOVED. Sorta.

I made a new blog. For absolutely no reason at all.

I'll reveal the title this weekend, because it's still going through some changes.

But - it has this artsy feel to it.

And it is 100% more pretetentious.

In other news:

I passed all my finals with at least an A. And my sister and I both got 117 out of 118 on a final no one has ever gotten a perfect score on. EVER. Not to brag, or anything, but we were pretty close.

THIS BLOG WILL PREVAIL.

I will not quit this blog. The Price of Dawn will NOT be forgotten. We will trudge through this rough patch of finals and emerge on the other side shining with A's and, hopefully, a blog post or two.

So, yeah. I've let my blogging slip for a couple of weeks. I've been studying for finals (perhaps "writing fanfiction while a formidable pile of textbooks lurk in my peripheral vision" would be better term), and have not found the time to entertain y'all with my petty happenings.

Also, a certain package came in the mail on Thursday.

Just - just take a gander.

It's not like I talked about it every freaking waking moment of my life or anything.

And it's certainly not signed with a beautiful J Scribble.

Right?

RIGHT?

Okay, the Fault in Our Stars arrived, and after much fan-girly squeeing and flailing, I sat down to read it.

My mind is still numb from the amount of awesome.

A full review is yet to come. After finals, of course.

(And, can I just say - Augustus Waters is the most beautiful fictional character I've had the pleasure to meet. I can't count how many times that boy made me laugh. I am currently on a quest to find the embodiment of Gus. Any help is dearly appreciated).

Best wishes!

What I Got for Christmas

Instead of enlightening you on the wonderful family dinners, cheer, and holiday spirit that transpired this winter vacation, I am going to skip right on over to the stuff you really care about. You know, where I tell you what I got for Christmas.

(Okay, maybe you don't care about it. Perhaps I'm just a bit narcissistic today.)
  • Microsoft Word!!!! -
My Nerd is showing. I almost had an epileptic fit when I unwrapped it. It's something I've been wanting for ages, as all I had for my computer is notepad (and - not to diss it - but it sucks).
  • Water for Elephants -
I raved about this book to my mom during November; it was something resembling an incentive for my NaNoWriMo throughout the rough patches of the month. If this great book could come out of NaNo, I thought, maybe I'll get lucky, too. Evidently, this was not the case. I reached 10,000 words and quit.

Fantastic book, by the way!
  • Sing-a-ma-jig
A few months ago, my sister and I became slightly obsessed with these toys called Sing-a-ma-jigs. Why did two teenaged girls want a toy made for three year olds? This vlogbrother video will explain it all:

Thanks, sis! I can finally say, with a sing-a-ma-jig clutched loftily in my hands , "I'm a singamajig player. And proud."

And with an irrelevant side note: I got the pink one.

  • Scarves
  • A winter jacket
  • and headphones
What a  wonderful Christmas! (Although a bit of snow would have been nice, she commented sadly)

Best wishes!

Safe and Sound by Taylor Swift

In other words, I haven't posted in a while, so please enjoy this amazing Hunger Games song by Taylor Swift as compensation...in lieu of an actual post!

I am insanely excited for this movie. However, not as excited as I am for the... *drum roll* CHAOS WALKING MOVIE. I found out this week, and I've been freaking out ever since.

So, questions for my (two) viewers:

1. Have you read the Hunger Games?

2. If so, what scene are you most looking forward to?

3. If not, WHAT THE  HECK IS WRONG WITH YOU? Pick up a copy NOW.

4. Also, have you read the Chaos Walking series? :D

I am horrendously American.

Earlier today, I was browsing the Next Gen Fanatics Harry Potter forum and came across "The Accent Challenge." The Accent Challenge (although its title is basically self-explanatory) is a challenge where you say a list of words relating to the world of Harry Potter and answer some questions regarding next-gen characters/NGF forum. My inner stalker could not resist this scintillating opportunity to hear well-known fanficers vocalize words, and I proceeded to spend the next thirty minutes listening to various entries. And with each entry I heard, I was hit with a startling realization.

I am horribly American.

I do not have a posh English accent, nor a cute Scottish "um." My accent, if I even have one, is boring, extraordinary, and not unlike a four year old's.

 It's depressing.

I became more depressed when I realized I'd been mispronouncing some Next Gen characters' names for four years. My small and self-centered American mind can not wrap around French pronunciations.

For example,

Victoire. Daughter of Fleur and Bill Weasley

Pronounced: Vic TWAH...r. I can't do a French accent for the life of me.

My pronunciation: Vic-TOR-ie

*face palm*

Also, Louis. LOO-IE. Not Lew-is.
*face palm-head desk combo*

I need a few seconds to process this.
